Make magical slime

You will need:
- 1 tbsp PVA glue
- 1 tbsp Water
- Small bowl
- Paint
- Glitter (optional)
- 40g Cornflour
- A plate or tray

1. Mix the glue and water together well in a small bowl.

2. Add a squirt of paint to the mixture and stir it through. Add more and stir again if you’d like your slime to be brighter. Also add some glitter if you're using it.

3. Add the cornflour to the mixture 1 tbsp at a time and stir well. Keep adding cornflour until the mixture becomes hard to stir and the surface breaks as you pull a spoon across it.

4. Transfer your slime to a large plate or tray and have fun exploring how to feels and moves. You might want to try seeing what happens when you:
- Gently push your finger into it
- Sharply push a pencil into it
- Hold it with your palm facing down
- Pull it apart
5. Your slime will dry out over time, so you may need to add a little more water to keep playing. When you’ve finished with the slime, wrap it in clingfilm and put it in an airtight container where it should last for a few days.
Magic or science?
You’ve made a substance that becomes more or less fluid (flows like a liquid) depending on how much pressure it is under. Did you notice that when you hit the slime hard it felt solid but when you were gentle it became softer? The scientific name for it is a non-newtonian fluid!
