8 small businesses we'll be supporting this Christmas

Christmas gifts

Have you made your Christmas shopping list yet? We’ll be shopping early this year as we’re anticipating delays with the postal services. Of course, as ever we’re keen to support our small business friends– it’s been a tough year for most and they need our custom now more than ever before. Here are just a few of the small businesses we’ll be supporting this Christmas, and some of the amazing products we’ve got our eye on:

HAM reading rabbit mug

HAM

The HAM rabbit pops up in several places at Parrot Street HQ already – we’re big fans! And we’re super excited that Jo has released a series of picture books which kids will love.

Madeleine and Co

Madeline and Co

We’re hoping for one or two party invitations this year and we’ll be stocking up on these delicious chocolate coated madeleines to take with us - they make the perfect gift for your hosts this Christmas. Their beautifully packaged gift boxes can also be sent direct to the recipient with a gift note, so are the ideal Christmas gift for the foodie in your life too.

Soap Stack Gift Box

Soapstack

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a new set of soaps – and these gorgeous toiletries with a difference make a fantastic gift for the more discerning recipient! We love the contemporary designs and beautiful pastel colours. We’ve got our eye on one of these gift sets, but their individual soaps would also make great stocking fillers.

The Uncommon

The Uncommon

The Uncommon must win the prize for the prettiest packaging – so beautiful! We’ve selflessly tried and tested these sparkling English wines for you too and you can rest assured that they are as delicious as the cans are beautiful. Plus, they can ship directly to the recipient for you. What’s not to love?!

Honey & Toast unicorn coin purse

Honey & Toast

I am a huge fan of Honey & Toast – their gorgeous handmade leather goods, designed and produced in the UK, have been a staple of my wardrobe for a few years now. The brand has gone from strength to strength in 2022 and their new Grace tote bag is pretty much the only thing on my own Christmas wish list this year. For the stylish kids in your family, we think these colourful coin purses make the perfect Christmas gift.

Black and Beech feminist fingerless gloves

Black and Beech

Certain members of the Parrot Street family will be expecting some smart new knitwear for Christmas this year and Black and Beech have the best range of knitted accessories going, ethically sourced and adorned with inspiring slogans. Plus, they support some causes very close to our hearts. We will definitely be purchasing a set of these Feminist fingerless mittens for a very discerning teen – she’s going to love them!

Tipperleyhill personalised animal print

Tipperleyhill

We’ve bought several of Tipperleyhill’s quirky personalised artworks as gifts for friends and family over the years. Their animal art prints are so fun and make excellent Christmas gifts for animal-lovers young and old. They will personalise any print with text of your choice – or you can select from one of their brilliant slogans.

Shida Preserved Flowers wreath kit

Shida Preserved Flowers

I discovered Shida Preserved Flowers last year and have been recommending them far and wide ever since. Their beautiful bouquets of preserved flowers are all natural, sustainable and maintenance free. I’ll be purchasing one of their wreath kits for myself this year and no doubt will be gifting a bouquet as well. Real flowers that last all year – what better gift is there?

Don't forget to shop small and shop early this Christmas!
