Make chilli paneer
Serves 2
You will need:
- 250g paneer, cut into cubes
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2-3 green chillies, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hot chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornflour (mixed with 2 tbsp water)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and lightly fry the paneer cubes until golden. Remove and set aside.
2. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Sauté the garlic, ginger, green chillies, and onions until they become soft and slightly translucent.
3. Add the peppers and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they start softening but still retain a bit of crunch.
4. Add the soy sauce, chilli sauce, tomato ketchup, and vinegar. Stir well and cook for a minute.
5. Pour in the cornflour and water mixture and stir continuously until the sauce thickens.
6. Add the fried paneer cubes and season with salt and pepper. Mix well to coat the paneer with the sauce.
